What’s That Smell Food Fitness Family

Introduction

Food that makes people go, “what’s that smell?” is much easier to create for your fitness family than you think.

Eating healthy food doesn’t mean you’ll be shoving veggies down your throat. Instead, we’ll tell you some interesting tips you can use to make and present tasty food that smells great and that your fitness family will love.

Relationship Between Smell and Food

Before we dive into the various tips you could use to present or create tasty food that smells great, let’s check out the relationship between smell and food.

Serve and Eat Food While It’s Hot

When you’re craving a hot meal, a classic greek salad or a cold sandwich just doesn’t quite cut the mustard. Despite our intense craving for hot food, many of us would still choose a cold meal, believing it to be our only option for dinner.

You don’t have to be a world-class chef to treat your family, friends, and guests with white tablecloth service while dining at home. Before serving, take a moment to warm up your plates. Simply turn your oven to its lowest temperature, usually less than 150 degrees, and then put your plates into the oven for a few minutes, which helps the food maintain its temperature. To serve food like a pro, no special equipment or expensive plate warmers are required at home.

Did you know that there are actually benefits to eating hot food instead of cold, besides satisfying your cravings? Eating a hot meal instead of a cold one is good for your body in many ways. The human body digests hot and cold food in different ways. People tend to eat hot meals slower as it allows their body more time and requires less effort to digest food and absorb nutrients.

Try to Use a Blend of Spices

There’s nothing more pleasant than entering a house that smells of warm spices and herbs. Spices can transform a dish from being ordinary to something extraordinary and memorable. Cinnamon, cardamom, and many other aromatic spices do not just add a lovely scent to drinks and food. They also have similar effects on our breath and body!

Many spices make you smell good when you consume them, e.g., fenugreek seeds, rosemary, thyme, etc. Some ingredients we eat can give us a strong and sour body odor, while others can help us smell good. Many of the spices we put in our kitchen cabinets and use in the cooking process are the same ones we use to make fragrances, like cinnamon, black pepper, clove, ginger, coriander, and cardamom.

Cinnamon

Cinnamon is a widely used spice today and is used in dishes to eat and for seasonal decorations. Cinnamon is probably the number one scent and the number one spice that most of us commonly use.

Cardamom

One of the best-smelling spices is cardamom. It helps to reduce the unpleasant smell your body produces.

Star Anise

This smells incredibly warm, sweet, and spicy. A bowl of potpourri with whole star anise added makes a great licorice home smell. It has a light licorice flavor. Anise is among the smells you like or desperately hate.

Try Different Types of Meat

The aroma and the flavor of cooked food define the quality of meat. When you eat any food, the instant sensation is the taste. However, you can also smell food.

The taste of the cooked meat depends on how much heat is applied. The smell and flavor released from fat during cooking differentiate the flavor of beef, deer, chicken, lamb, and so on.  As the temperature rises, the fat melts and coats the surface of the meat, which contributes to the overall flavor.

Experiment With Cooking and Preparation Methods

There are several ways to cook and prepare your meal – think of the different ways you can use to cook eggs! An egg can be poached, hard-boiled, basted, soft-boiled, fried, baked, scrambled, shirred, coddled sunny-side-up, or even made into an omelet! Apart from these, there are different food preparation methods, e.g., cleaning, cooking, seasoning, and assembling.

If you’ve cooked a similar recipe before, try changing things up to see how it turns out. So, try different cooking techniques for your next dinner to see which technique works best for the food items you love the most.

Try the Same Food with Different Sauces

The sauce is one of the most important factors in maximizing the flavor of your dish. Not only do they take your meals to the next level, but they can also be used in pre-cooking as a marinade for meats and vegetables and are the perfect way to top off your meal.

You can cook the same food using different methods such as grilling, stewing, roasting, sautéing, steaming, etc.

Here are a few mix and match meal components: bases, proteins, vegetables, sauces, and seasonings. You can make multiple meals combining these ingredients, like breakfast burritos or quesadillas, omelets, stir-fries, large salads, wraps, sandwiches, Burrito Bowl Meal, and snacks.

Let’s take an example of a steak. You can easily cook a steak using different sauces such as barbecue sauce, teriyaki sauce, mushroom sauce, creamy pepper sauce, and more.
